Overview
Bacteriostatic water is a sterile water preparation containing 0.9% benzyl alcohol as a bacteriostatic preservative. It provides a controlled laboratory diluent for dissolving or diluting compatible research materials. The preservative helps inhibit bacterial growth following vial access but does not sterilise contaminated material.

Store refrigerated at 2°C–8°C and protect from direct light, heat and moisture. Keep the product in its original packaging until required and minimise the time spent outside refrigerated storage. Handle the vial carefully. Do not shake or vigorously agitate, as this may affect product integrity. If mixing is required for an authorised laboratory procedure, gently swirl the vial until the contents are dissolved.
